What if you're wrong, I was right, and vice versa?
I have encountered a small
problem in reading books. I got ten pages in a title and then went in to
another title for the same ten pages. I did it to almost all my books. It sicked because I supposed to read it
pages by pages just like the normal do.
Actually this is not an issue that I want to discuss. I just want to say
that I am so fragile in focus. For example, just look at this writing. You know,
I will bring the issue wider and does not have any resemblance.
Well, let’s cut the crap. I have been thinking, what if you’re right? This
question tells me a lot. It brought my mind to the unexpected things such as
how I do with my religion. Religion has been a great issue since I met some
crazy books.
To get more interesting and bitchy topic, let’s bring it to some sensitive questions. To be honest, just about two
or three days ago, I checked out one famous Muslim speaker, or ulema, from
India, Zakir Naik. I know it will be an issue, no? HAHA.
So, in youtube, there was a Q&A session in Zakir’s show (show?). I
came against the video that got huge number of views, and it was atheist vs
Zakir. No doubt, it was very interesting. The atheist, also a former Muslim,
asked Zakir about his opinion about the creation. He is a biologist and of
course tends to agree with the evolution team.
Well, nothing special I can tell about Zakir. He just brought the paradigm
to certain general level so that created logic of creator and its creation by quoting
the holy book. Of course it is vulnerable because the atheist is not that kind
hearted boy. Yeah, he peeled Zakir’s skin by proposing medical-empiric answer. It
is torturing the religion if thee ask me.
By now, I came with that horrible question, what if the atheist is right,
all human being are African? So, this issue has tortured my brain and heart
(again). Damnshit. The scientists give you some evident that we are African, by an untouchable holy book, we
denied them. The scientist gives you some picture that we live in a small
planet among billion stars. The dogma tells us that this world is created for human so that they can worship the god. Maybe, the word universe has not found yet at that time. Oh, man, I think religion argument is not valid anymore.
When I see Richard Dawkins’ explanation about gene, or Neil deGreisse about
the universe, sometimes, everything becomes fade away. Some issues such as economic
regulation, political practice, religion and everything seem not important. We have
to raise that question, are we live alone in this planet? And why are we
living?
That brave-dangerous question is, what if the religion is wrong? We don't know the answer. But we have responsibility the find the answer. We are living in a long-distance running event as an estafet runner. Our stick is knowledge that should be delivered to the next generation.
What I wanna say is, we should not to take that hatred too far if religion is wrong. As a believer, I must also accept the advance of academic world. If I denied one simply theory such as we are all African, I must deny all invention in this world. Knowledge works based on proof and fact.
So, it is the time to say good bye to religion? Of course not. Thankfully, there are also some priests who believe in the evolution. We appreciate this movement because it proves that religion can accept science. Holy book must be seen as a metaphorical full-text so that its divine will live long as it needs to be interpreted.
These kind of priests are what we really need as believers. What Zakir did is just bringing back the religion to the age of no reason. Zakir is just a fundamentalist who does not realize that we live in a unstoppable train called knowledge. Denying knowledge means jumping off from the train. And yes, we will die.
So, what if I am right?
